FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind. – The Northeastern football team won its second straight Tri-Eastern Conference contest of the season on Friday as the Knights defeated Hagerstown 32-27.
The Knights grabbed an early 10-0 advantage in the first period and they were able to hang on for the victory.
After a safety, Connor Bray scored on a 4-yard run and then Jacob Auger hit Seth Killen with a pass for the two-point conversion to put the Knights on top.
The two teams alternated touchdowns in the second period with the Knights holding a 24-21 lead at halftime.
Hagerstown quarterback Owen Golliher scored runs of 20, three and one to help provide the Tigers with their 21 points in the frame.
Ryan Hartmann picked up both touchdowns for the Knights on a 44-yard run before adding the other on a 1-yard run.
In the third quarter, Bray scored his second touchdown of the affair to put the Knights in front 32-21.
Mason Hicks finished the scoring on a 3-yard run early in the final stanza.
Hartmann led the Knights with 144 yards on 26 attempts. Auger completed 3-of-6 passes for 110 yards with all three receptions by Bray.
Golliher topped the Tigers with 109 yards rushing, while going Golliher 4-of-8 on passing attempts for 68 yards. Hicks led the Tigers with two grabs for 50 yards.
Next Friday, the Knights (3-1, 2-0) entertain TEC leader Tri (3-1, 3-0).
