LAPEL, Ind. – The Lincoln girls basketball team challenged the No. 3 team in Class 2A on Friday, but the Golden Eagles came up short in a 78-66 contest.
“We played well,” said Lincoln Head Coach Rob Bills. “We just ran out of gas against a really good team.”
The Golden Eagles led 23-19 after the first period, but by halftime Lapel was on top 43-36.
Kerrigan Neff led the Golden Eagles with 22 points as she made 10-of-12 free throw attempts.
Allie Owens tossed in 15 points, while Olivia Davis added 10 points.
Lincoln (2-1) finishes a tough weekend as the Golden Eagles entertain No. 9 Shenandoah on Saturday.
