The top performances in Major League Baseball this week were by Brandon Moss of the Cleveland Indians and Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners.
Moss was 3-for-5, while knocking in nine runs in Cleveland’s 13-1 win at Detroit on April 24.
Moss had a two-run double in the first inning against Tiger starter Shane Greene. In the fifth, Moss blasted a three-run long ball off Alex Wilson.
In the ninth, he victimized his third Detroit hurler of the contest with a two-run homer off Al Alburquerque.
Hernandez is now 3-0 this season after blanking the Minnesota Twins 2-0 in Seattle on April 24.
Needing only 102 pitches in the complete game effort, the righthander gave up five hits with nine strikeouts and he didn’t walk a batter.
