The top performances in Major League Baseball this week were by the Toronto Blue Jays and Carlos Carrasco of the Cleveland Indians.

The Blue Jays have won eight games in a row with two of those being by new acquisition David Price winning two of them. In those two outings he had threw 15 innings and gave up one run on six hits.

Overall this season with the Detroit Tigers and Blue Jays, Price is 11-4 with an ERA of 2.35.

On Tuesday, Aug. 4, Carrasco tossed nine scoreless innings in Los Angeles against the Angels allowing just a single in the fifth inning to Daniel Murphy. He struck out seven and walked one.

Unfortunately, Carrasco was matched on the scoreboard by four Angels pitchers as the game went into extra frames. The contest was decided in the Indians favor in the top of the 12th inning on a game-winning two-run homer Giovanny Urshela.

Carrasco is 11-8 this year with a 3.76 ERA.
