The top performances in Major League Baseball this week were by Chris Heston of the San Francisco Giants and Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds.
Heston tossed the first no-hitter of the 2015 season as he blanked the New York Mets 5-0 at Citi Field on Tuesday, June 9.
Heston struck out 11 and although didn’t walk at batter, the right-hander did hit three.
After a loss on Sunday, June 14, Heston is 6-5 with a 3.76 ERA.
Votto hit three homers and knocked in four runs in an 11-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies at Great American Ballpark on June 9.
Votto’s effort tied him with Johnny Bench as the club record holder with three homers in a game three times.
This season, Votto has 14 homers with 36 RBI and a .298 batting average.
