The top performances in Major League Baseball this week were by Yasmani Grandal of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Shelby Miller of the Atlanta Braves.
Grandal was 4-for-4 with two walks and eight RBI in the Dodgers 14-4 win at Milwaukee on May 7. He currently has four homers, 13 RBI, while batting .307.
Grandal singled in the first inning and then added the bases on balls in the third and fifth. In the sixth, he had a two-run single. He finished his game with three-run homers in the eighth and ninth.
Miller tossed a complete game in Atlanta as he shut out the Philadelphia Phillies 9-0 on May 5.
Acquired by the Braves in a trade from the St. Louis Cardinals prior to this season, Miller surrendered three hits and a walk with eight strikeouts on 99 pitches. He is 4-1 in six starts this season with an ERA of 1.66.
