The top performances in Major League Baseball this week were by Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals.
The duo combined to dominate the Philadelphia Phillies during a road contest on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Strasburg limited the Phillies to a single in the fifth inning by Cody Asche in the 4-0 victory by the Nationals. Strasburg fanned 14 and walked one in his eight innings of work.
This season, Strasburg is 10-7 with an ERA of 3.81.
In the first inning, Harper gave the Nationals a 1-0 advantage with a solo homer. He added a RBI single in the third. He blasted a two-run shot in the eighth finished the scoring in the contest.
Harper has 41 homers this season with 95 RBI and a .343 batting average.
