PARKER CITY, Ind. – Second-ranked Northeastern survived an overtime on Tuesday to defeat Monroe Central 83-76.
The Knights had three players in double figures led by Nate Reynolds, who had 30 points.
Tyler Smith tossed in 22 points and handed out seven assists, while Bailey Stewart added 15 points and five steals.
Robert Smith led the Knights with eight rebounds and finished with eight points.
A quick start allowed the Knights to lead 25-11 after one period. By halftime the lead had been cut to 37-28.
The game was tied 52-52 at the third stop and then 69-69 at the end of regulation.
In the extra session, Monroe Central worked to a 74-71 advantage when Northeastern responded with a 12-2 run to put the game away.
