NEW CASTLE, Ind. – The Northeastern softball team dropped a tight 2-1 contest on Saturday at New Castle.
Northeastern took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth, but the Trojan responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame.
Carli Williams led Northeastern with two hits and she knocked the Knights run.
Sierra Gilmore, Lauren York and Leah Hoskins each had hits for the Knights.
Katie Schneider went the distance on the mound for Northeastern and gave up three hits and struck out 11.
The Knights (6-6) visit Cowan on Monday.
