FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind. – Northeastern’s football team remained undefeated in the Tri-Eastern Conference on Friday as the Knights won 42-6 over Tri.
Ryan Hartmann ran for 130 yards and four touchdowns as the Knights went to 3-0 in the TEC and 4-1 overall. With the win, Northeastern Head Coach Mike Roeder celebrated his 100th victory.
The Knights took control of the contest early with a pair of touchdowns in the first quarter. Hartmann scored on a 5-yard run and Josh Tudor scored from 3 yards out.
With a two touchdown advantage, Hartmann added an 11-yard score to put the Knights in front 22-0 at the 10:46 mark of the second period.
Tri picked up its only score of the game with 2:40 left in the second on a 1-yard run by David O’Neill, who would be held to under 100 yards for the first time this season as he gained 46 on 14 carries. He has 824 yards this season.
Northeastern led 30-6 by the intermission as the Knights scored in the final minute of the half as Nathan Fletcher grabbed and 11-yard pass from Jacob Auger.
Hartmann finished the scoring for the night with runs of six and 11 yards in the third frame. He would also end the night with his fourth 100-yard rushing game of the season as he now has 684.
Tudor also reached the 100-yard plateau as he gained 114 for the Knights. He also led the Knights with 10 tackles.
Nick Wilson led Tri with a game-high 18 tackles.
The Knights visit Centerville next Friday, while the Titans (3-2, 3-1) entertain Hagerstown.
