RICHMOND, Ind. – The Northeastern boys basketball team won its second game of the weekend 76-59 win over Seton on Saturday at Earlham College.
“I’m proud of our kids,” Northeastern Head Coach Brent Ross said. “Two road games with two different styles.”
The No. 2 Knights beat No. 9 Shenandoah 35-33 on the road Friday night.
On Saturday, Tyler Smith led the Knights with 27 points and six rebounds, while Freeman Brou tossed in 17 points to go with five rebounds. Nate Reynolds added 14 and Jordan Stolle chipped in a dozen.
“It was great to see Freeman Brou step up a play big inside,” Ross said. “Jordan Stolle started to get offensive minded and looking for his shot.”
Northeastern grabbed a 19-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Knights led 36-20 at the intermission and they were able to maintain their advantage the rest of the way.
The Knights won the JV contest 40-32 with Quantrell Gammon leading the way with 10 points. Cole Mikesell added nine and Blake Hancock eight. Caylor Fisher finished with seven.
Northeastern (6-0) travels to the Marion Classic on Thursday to face No. 4 Oak Hill (6-0).
