Panthers Blast Blackhawks


KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. –
The Knightstown girls softball team pounded out 34 hits on Saturday as the Panthers swept Cowan 16-1 and 16-3 in a pair of five-inning games.

The highlight of the day was Jess Butler hitting for the cycle in the second game as she drove in six runs.

Dharma Holder also homer in the contest as the Panthers had 14 hits.

Courtney Carlton went the distance to earn the victory as she gave up four hits with three strikeouts.

The Panthers scored 11 times in the first inning of the opener to set the tone for the doubleheader.

Sidney Vise tossed a complete game holding the Blackhawks to three hits.

At the plate, Vise was one of five Panthers to collect five hits as they finished with 20 overall.

Butler, Kaitlyn Jackson, Makenna Leisure and Lexy Goodpaster all had three hits.

Knightstown (6-3) travels to Centerville on Monday for a Tri-Eastern Conference game.
