RICHMOND, Ind. – The Union County boys golf team picked up a 166-173 victory over defending Tri-Eastern Conference champion Centerville on Wednesday at Highland Lake.
Centerville’s Mason Rader carded the top score of the match with a 39, while Union County’s Tyler Dunn had a 40 to lead the Patriots.
Union County’s other scores were Dillon Miller 41, Jake Antrim 42, Tyler Osborne 43 and Derrick Frasur 45.
Josh Duke finished with a 40 for the Bulldogs and the others were Skyler Benedict 46, Aydan Koyles 48 and Aaron Glover 48.
“It was a good first match out for both teams,” Centerville Head Coach Roger Martin said. “We have to develop some consistency in the middle of our line-up and be ready every night.”
The next match for Centerville (0-1, 0-1) is against Northeastern on Thursday at Highland Lake.
The Patriots (1-0, 1-0) and the Bulldogs compete in the Cross/Van Pelt Invitational on Saturday at the Elks Country Club in Richmond.
