CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Union County’s boys soccer season came to an end on Saturday night as the Patriots fell 4-2 to Seton in the Class A Sectional championship contest.
“Seton Catholic wanted the game a lot more than we did,” Union County Head Coach Brian Nixon said. “The guys came out flat the first half.”
“I’m proud of the way they came together the second half,” Nixon continued. “They really showed a lot of spark and enthusiasm. I’m proud of each and every one of them.”
Cameron Sanford scored the first goal for the Patriots with an assist from Evan Couser.
Couser had the other goal Patriots with an assist from Dakota Elleman.
Union County goalkeeper Ricardo Leon had six saves for the Patriots (10-3-1).
The Cardinals (12-4-1) advance to the Knightstown Regional to face the winner of the Jac-Cen-Del Sectional.
