CENTERVILLE, Ind. – The Union County boys soccer team advanced to Saturday’s sectional title contest with a 3-0 victory over Knightstown on Wednesday night.
The Patriots face Seton, which defeated Centerville 3-1 in the other semifinal.
Union County scored all three of its goals in the second half.
“It was 0-0 at half,” Union County Head Coach Brian Nixon said. “They adjusted their formation. We played them in the regular season, we were victorious. That’s what a good coach does, he looks at what had happened. He made some changes and set up pretty much a wall as much as defense and it was hard for us to work through.”
“At halftime, we had the opportunity to talk to the guys and make some adjustments,” Nixon added.
Cameron Sanford, Joshua Nixon and Justin Beasley each scored for the Patriots.
For Centerville, Dante Torres scored in the second half with an assist from Trenton Uhl.
