LIBERTY, Ind. – After scoring four times in the first inning on Monday, the Union County baseball team hit high gear in the third as the Patriots went on to post a 15-4 win over Knightstown.
With a 4-1 advantage entering the bottom of the third, Union County score seven times to out the game out of reach.
Justin Witter led the Patriots with three hits including a homer as he knocked in three runs.
Mason Miller drove in five runs on two hits with a homer. Preston Scott and Cameron Donovan also had two hits.
Scott, Mook Shepler and Nate Webb all had two RBI. Webb had a home run.
Scott worked all five innings on the mound to get the win for the Patriots with five strikeouts.
Union County (15-6) entertains Centerville in Tri-Eastern Conference contest on Wednesday.
