LIBERTY, Ind. – Rachel Sparks tossed her second one-hitter of the spring on Tuesday as the Union County softball team defeated Tri-Eastern Conference rival Winchester 13-0.
Sparks gave up a hit to Winchester’s Rhamey Fetters. She had four strikeouts as she threw 42 pitches in the five-inning contest.
“We played well,” Union County Head Coach Scott Gray said.
Madison Walters had three doubles and knocked in a pair of runs for the Patriots, while Madison Rosenberger added two hits and two RBI. Kristin Klein also had two hits.
Union County (5-2, 1-0) travels to Oldenburg on Thursday.
Winchester (0-2, 0-1) visits New Castle on Thursday.
