Union County’s Joey Weller
LIBERTY, Ind. – The Union County baseball team picked up a 14-0 victory over Tri-Eastern Conference foe Union City on Thursday.
Joey Weller went the distance on the mound for the Patriots in the five-inning contest giving up three hits with 11 strikeouts.
Blake Fields led the Patriots with three hits as he knocked in two runs.
Weller, Cameron Donovan and Leighton Schulte finished with two hits each.
Mason Miller drove in three runs, while Donovan, Justin Witter and Preston Scott and all had two RBI.
Gabe Loesch, Jacob Fulk and Cam Luster each had a hit for the Indians.
The Patriots (6-1, 2-0) are in Winchester Friday for a TEC match-up.
Union City (2-2-1, 2-1) will be on the road Friday night to face Blue River.
