LIBERTY, Ind. – The Union County boys basketball team picked up its second straight win on Tuesday night as the Patriots defeated Batesville 46-36.
“Our guys have really bought into playing at a high energy level,” Union County Head Coach Mark Detweiler said.
Detweiler praised the defensive work of his team, including Preston Scott and Breyden Wicker.
The non-conference affair wasn’t really as close as the final score as the Patriots led 44-26 with three minutes remaining.
Logan Sanford led the Patriots with 15 points, while Wicker added a dozen.
Union County (3-3) faces Southwestern (Hanover) in the opening round of the Northeastern Tournament on Monday, Dec. 28.
