OSGOOD, Ind. – After trailing at halftime, the Union County boys basketball team bounced back to defeat Jac-Cen-Del 58-50 on Saturday.
“Jac-Cen-Del presented a unique challenge,” Union County Head Coach Jesse Moses said. “They have two solid bigs, who are physical and constantly improving.”
“They’re a solid team,” Moses continued. “Our guys did a nice job of matching their physicality winning the position.”
Mason Miller led the Patriots with 17 points as they won their seventh straight win.
“I continue to be happy with our collective energy,” Moses said. “All 13 guys are locked in night in and night out.”
Cameron Donovan added 12 points with six coming in the third period as Union County built a 47-42 advantage.
Preston Scott and Cameron Sanford both finished with eight points.
Mook Shepler tossed in six points.
Union County won the JV contest 46-44.
Alex Van Winkle hit a pair free throws with less than two seconds for the final margin. Van Winkle led the Patriots with 20 points.
The Patriots (13-3, 5-0) travel to Lincoln (7-9, 1-2) on Thursday.
