Union County’s Emma Cannon
WINCHESTER, Ind. – The Union County girls track team edged out Hagerstown and Centerville on Thursday night to claim the Tri-Eastern Conference title.
The Patriots finished with 139 points, while Hagerstown had 134. Defending champion Centerville had 120.
The other teams scores were Winchester 69, Lincoln 34, Northeastern 28, Union City 24 and Tri 24.
Union County’s Emma Cannon was a double-winner in the 100 hurdles (16.20) and 300 hurdles (49.37). Anevay Antrim won the 1,600 (5:51.90) and Samantha Ramey took the 800 (2:34.72). Sarah Myers, Lilly Hampton, Kendal Jones and Kristen Hill won the 400 relay (53.38) with Myers, Hampton, Samantha Ramey and Cannon taking the 1,600 relay (4:25.79).
Amiee Hoodlebrink led the Tigers as she won the 100 (13.06), 200 (27.64) and the long jump (15-9½). Logan McRoberts won the 3,200 (13:03.55) and Abby Dale on the high jump (4-8).
Centerville’s Kayla Newman, Baylee Fry, Kailee Tedder and Abby Ulm won the 3,200 relay (11:01.92).
Winchester, Lincoln and Union City each had a champion. Maddie Lawrence won the discus (120-5) for the Golden Falcons and Kerrigan Neff had the winning toss in the shot put (35-10½) for the Golden Eagles. Sophia Spence won the 400 (1:04.00) for the Indians.
