MILAN, Ind. – The Union County boys basketball team finished the regular season on Friday night with a 48-47 victory over Milan.
The Patriots led 14-6 after the opening period before they were ahead 26-13 by halftime.
Milan mounted a comeback in the second half as the Indians closed the gap to 35-33 at the end of the third, but the Patriots were able to hang on for their third straight win.
Logan Sanford led the way with 19 points. Derek Dearth tossed in 11 points.
Mason Miller finished with nine points and Cameron Donovan added eight.
Union County (11-12) begins play in the Class 2A sectional at Hagerstown on Tuesday night against Centerville (13-9) at 6 p.m.
