UNION CITY, Ind. – Lincoln’s Garrett Pumphrey reached the 1,000-point mark in his career on Friday as he led the Golden Eagles to a 60-47 Tri-Eastern Conference boys basketball win over Union City.
Pumphrey scored 27 points as he grabbed 17 rebounds and added six blocks, four assists and a steals to his stat line in the contest. He now has 1,002 points in his career.
Caleb Craig tossed in 22 points to go with four steals and three assists.
Carter Mettler contributed six points.
For Union City, Wes Mote led the way with 15 points.
Zerrin Cantu finished with 10 points. Bryten Stewart added eight points and Mason Good had seven.
The Golden Eagles led 14-4 after the first frame and they added to their advantage to lead 36-16 at the intermission.
The Indians closed the gap to 46-31 at the end of the third, but the Golden Eagles were able to maintain their distance.
Lincoln (6-7, 1-1) plays Princeton (10-2) in Knightstown’s Hoosier Gym on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Union City (4-10, 0-4) is at Hagertsown (8-4, 2-1) for another conference contest next Friday.
