FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind. – Northeastern’s softball team fell behind by four runs early on Thursday, but the Knights were able to overcome the deficit to post a 10-4 over Hagerstown.
After Northeastern tied the Tri-Eastern Conference contest at 4-4, Lena Smith had a two-out single to centerfield with the bases loaded to drive in three runs to put the Knights up 7-4.
Smith later knocked in two more runs in the 6th inning.
Leah Hoskins lead the Knights with three hits, while Smith, Lauren York and Madison Kinder all had two hits each.
Kinder pitched a complete game for the win allowing only five hits.
The Knights return to action at home on Saturday as they host the Northeastern Invitational.
