This week’s girls basketball action for teams in the Tri-Eastern Conference starts early, as Hagerstown (12-6) entertains Ansonia (7-6) from Ohio on Monday.
After their Monday tilt, the Tigers then square off with a familiar foe in their most important contest of the week on Thursday.
Hagerstown (3-1 in the conference) travels to Lincoln 7-9, 1-3) as the Tigers try to stay in the hunt for the TEC crown. The two teams just played last Saturday as Hagerstown won 61-44 in the Wayne County Tournament championship game.
Tuesday’s contests also feature a TEC game as Tri (11-6, 2-3) visits Northeastern 2-13, 0-3). National Trail (5-8) is at Lincoln, while Centerville (4-11) makes a trip to Shenandoah (5-10), which beat Tri 52-49 in overtime to claim the Henry County Tournament title.
On Wednesday, there are a pair of games as Union County (10-7) entertains Tri-County North (1-11) from Ohio and Winchester (8-10) goes to Muncie Central (13-3).
In addition to the previously mentioned TEC affair on Thursday, Northeastern is at Blue River (7-11) that night.
A boys-girls doubleheader is on tap for Friday at Union City. The Class 1A No. 10 Indians (14-3) welcome Monroe Central (12-5) as the two teams play for the third time this season. Union City won 34-32, while the Golden Bears picked up a 59-52 win last week.
Union County is at home on Saturday against Knightstown (3-14) to finish the week.
