Third Period Effort Propels Union City Boys to Victory

GASTON, Ind. – Union City’s boys basketball team shutdown Wes-Del in the third quarter on Tuesday as the Indians remained undefeated after posting a 53-45 win at Wes-Del.

“We came out and executed and then went down and executed (offensively),” Union City Head Coach Dustin Baldwin said. “That third quarter was really the difference.”

Wes-Del led 23-19 at halftime before the Indians took over at both ends of the floor taking the third period 19-3 as the built a 38-26 advantage over the Warriors (2-1).

Issac Davison led Union City with 22 points, while Bailey Hughes recorded a double-double. Hughes finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Indians (3-0) entertain Randolph Southern on Friday, Dec. 4.
