HAGERSTOWN, Ind. – The Hagerstown boys basketball team pulled away in the second quarter on Friday night as the Tigers posted a 60-47 win over Blue River.
“Great team win tonight,” Hagerstown Head Coach Bobby Jones said. “Evan Hoover really was a good spark off the bench in the second quarter.”
Hoover finished with 11 points.
“Hoover has really been a difference maker the last two games and tonight his energy and hustle really got us going on both ends of the floor,” Jones said.
The Tigers were up 13-9 after one period, but they were in front 29-16 by the intermission. The margin grew in the third frame to 48-28.
“Jared Andis hit three 3-pointers in the third quarter to open things up,” Jones said. “Nate Combs really played good post defense and Trent Weiss came off the bench and also played good defense.”
“It was a good win and a lot of guys got good minutes,” Jones added.
Andis topped the Tigers with 13 points and Combs had 10 points.
Hagerstown won the JV contest 67-42 as Caleb Neal led the way with 26 points for the Tigers. Drew Pyle added 13 and Weiss contributed 10.
The Tigers (11-4) are at Delta on Saturday.
