WINCHESTER, Ind. – The Hagerstown baseball team won a tight Tri-Eastern Conference contest at Winchester on Thursday as the Tigers defeated the Golden Falcons 6-3.
Winchester trailed 6-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh. After scoring a run to close the gap, the Golden Falcons were able to get the tying run to the plate before the Tigers were able to get the win.
Cody Swimm earned a save by getting the final four outs, but he did surrender a run and two hits. He did have four strikeouts.
Swimm led the Tigers on offense with a pair of hits including a double as he drove in two runs.
Trent Weiss, Owen Golliher, Drew Pyle, Clay Cochran and Noah Dale all had hits for the Tigers.
Derek Davis started on the mound for the Tigers and got the win. He gave up two runs on five hits with six strikeouts before leaving with two outs in the sixth.
For Winchester, Lukas Mills, Glenallen Anderson, Tanner Steveson, Jacob Lahey, Kris Weatherhead, Ross Culy and Jordan Key each had a hit.
Anderson was Winchester’s starter and he left with one out in the seventh after giving up five runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.
