LIBERTY, Ind. – Hagerstown advanced to the second round of the Class 2A girls softball sectional with a 7-4 win over Centerville on Monday at Union County.
The Tigers (5-15) meet fourth-ranked Northeastern (19-5) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. Northeastern (19-5) topped second-ranked Union County 10-0 in Monday’s other contest.
The Tigers took a 3-0 in the third inning as Ashley Strunk knocked in a run and Caysey Farmer drove in two runs.
Hagerstown scored three more runs in the fourth and another in the sixth.
Strunk earned the win on the mound for the Tigers, while Brytni Dale picked up a save as she stopped a late Centerville rally.
Alyssa Riall led the Bulldogs (6-13) with three hits and two RBI.
Grace Delay went the distance on the mound for Centerville with three strikeouts.
