EDINBURGH, Ind. – The Hagerstown boys basketball team finished second in the Edinburgh Tournament on Tuesday as the Tigers fell 62-47 to Indianapolis Manual in the title contest.
“This was a great tournament to play in and we improved greatly as a result of the competition,” Hagerstown Head Coach Bobby Jones said. “Manual is the biggest team we will face all year.”
“I am proud of the effort of my guys in all three games,” Jones added. “We are looking forward to the second half of the season.”
To reach the championship affair, Hagerstown defeated Jac-Cen-Del 56-45 and Indianapolis Lutheran 52-42 on Monday.
Manual led 17-11 after one period and 29-19 by halftime.
“We will not see a team as long and as big as Manual the rest of the season,” Jones said. “In the second half, we were able to adjust and attack their length much better. We couldn’t ask for any more out of our guys and the effort was outstanding.”
The Tigers were able score more points in the second half against.
Isaiah Neal led the Tigers with 12 points, while Bret Templin finished with 10. Mason Stitt and Jared Andis added nine points each.
Hagerstown (8-2) plays Seton on Saturday at Earlham.
