HAGERSTOWN, Ind. – The Hagerstown volleyball team won its fourth straight Wayne County Tournament title on Saturday as the Tigers defeated Centerville 25-13, 25-17, 25-9.
“We saw a very tired team out there with no energy and they can still get the job done,” Hagerstown Head Coach Brian Dale said.
Regan Tinkle led the Tigers with 10 kills against the Bulldogs, while Jessica Swimm and and Beth Jenkins finished with seven each.
Lanie McClanahan added six kills and Jenkins had 27 assists. Lacee Dale had six digs and Swimm contributed five digs
The Tigers reached the finale with a 25-10, 25-21, 25-17 over Lincoln.
Laynie Russell led the Golden Eagles with 11 kills, 11 digs and three aces. Emmie Pugh finished with six kills and 11 digs.
Alyssa Vickers had three kills and a pair of blocks. Rachel Merida had 23 assists.
Bulldogs Win Semifinal
Centerville beat Northeastern 22-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-12 to earn its spot in the championship contest.
Kelsee Troutwine had 25 kills and eight blocks to lead the Bulldogs on the day. Ally Staton added 41 assists.
Morgan Toschlog finished with 28 digs. Abby Ulm had 20 digs and 14 assists. Addie Walther had 13 kills and 20 digs.
Kelli Drake and Ava Burns led the Knights with three aces apiece. Morgan Benjamin had seven kills followed by Kasey Andrews and Ava Burns with six kills each.
Halea Laird had five digs, four kills and two blocks. Alexis Middleton had 18 assists and 13 digs with Brianna Shepherd adding in 13 digs.
Hagerstown (28-1) entertains Union County on Tuesday, while Centerville (18-8) visits Lincoln (14-12). Northeastern (8-18) travels to Tri High the same night.
