WINCHESTER, Ind. – The Tri High football team held on for a 25-22 victory over Winchester in a Tri-Eastern Conference contest on Friday night.
Trailing 14-0, the Titans scored late in the second quarter to cut their deficit in half by the intermission.
After Tri scored, but missed the PAT to close the gap to 14-13 in the third, the Golden Falcons added their final score to take a 22-13 lead.
The Titans scored two more times in the third to take the lead for good as the teams battled through a scoreless final period.
Nick Wilson had five catches for 123 yards and three touchdowns for the Titans. He also had a rushing touchdown. Drew Mondrush had six grabs for 59 yards. Alex Melton completed 14-of-15 passes for 213 yards.
Justin Greene led the Titans on defense with 11 tackles, while Logan Stephens added 10 stops.
The Titans (4-4, 3-3) play Union County (4-4, 3-3) at home next Friday as Winchester (1-7, 1-5) visits Centerville (6-2, 5-1).
