LEWISVILLE, Ind. – Defense hurt the Tri softball team on Saturday as the Titans dropped a 7-6 decision in eight innings to Eastern Hancock.
Tri led 6-3 heading into the top of the seventh before the Royals scored three unearned runs to tie the contest.
Eastern Hancock (4-1) scored the game-winner, which was also unearned, in the top of the eighth.
Kristin Falck, Jesse Spong and Mackenzie Peggs all had two hits for the Titans. Peggs hit a home run for one of her two hits.
Abbi Coffman worked the first four frames on the mound for the Titans before Payton Moore picked up the loss as she charged with four unearned runs.
The Titans (4-2) return to action at home against Anderson Prep on Monday.
