LEWISVILLE, Ind. – Alex Melton threw five touchdown passes on Friday night to lead Tri High to a 60-14 victory over Oldenburg.
The Titans (5-5) advance to face Hagerstown (9-1) on the road next Friday in the second round of the CLass 1A sectional. The Tigers beat North Decatur 40-12 to set up the contest.
Melton completed 9-of 17 passes for 222 yards.
Five different receivers scored touchdowns in the affair.
Drew Mondrush led the way with four grabs for 24 yards and two scores. Seth Butler had three receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Masen Phelps (52 yards), Gage Rowe (26 yards) and Kyler Burchett (20 yards) all scored on their only catches of the game.
Nick Wilson led the Titans on the ground with 112 yards and a score, while Austin Fowler had a 10-yard touchdown run on his only carry.
Defensively, Logan Stephens led Tri with 14 tackles. Mondrush had 11, while Justin Greene and Parker Smeltler finished with 10 apiece.
Burchett also returned an interception for a touchdown.
