LEWISVILLE, Ind. – The Tri girls softball team started the season on Wednesday with a 27-1 victory over Seton.
The Titans scored 14 runs in the bottom of the first and then added five more in the second against the Cardinals (0-1). They picked up seven in the third before finishing the contest with a single tally in the fourth.
Tri banged out 22 hits in the five-inning affair with Payton Moore leading the way for the Titans with four hits and five RBI.
Destiny Taylor and Kierstyn Conyers each added three hits as they both knocked in four runs.
Mackenzie Peggs and Abbi Coffman also finished with three hits each. Lauren Bouslog and Kirsten Falck had two hits apiece, while Bayley Prince and Breanna Reece each had a hit. Moore, Peggs and Falck all scored four times.
Coffman picked up the win as she worked five frames on the mound giving up an unearned run on four hits with 11 strikeouts.
The Titans (1-0) return to action against Union as they entertain the Rockets on Tuesday, April 5.
