DUBLIN, Ind. – Perfection.
Tri beat Randolph Southern 10-0 on Saturday as the Titans won their fourth straight Class 1A sectional crown as Payton Moore threw a perfect game at Wilson Park.
The Titans (23-3) entertain Daleville (7-10) in the regional round on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
“The weather was perfect, Payton was perfect on the mound, our defense was perfect,” Tri Head Coach Bryan Peggs said.
“We did pretty well at the plate,” Peggs continued. “We talked a lot about putting the ball in play and being smart on the base paths.”
Moore had nine strikeouts in six innings as she controlled the offense of the Rebels.
“It feels pretty good to throw a perfect game,” Moore said. “I couldn’t be more proud of my team. For the seniors, this was well deserved.”
“It means a lot,” Moore added about the sectional winning streak. “Not many schools can say they’ve done this and it’s a good feeling.”
Abi Busby, Destiny Taylor, Bailey Coffman, Kaley Harrison, Kierstyn Conyers, Lauren Bouslog and Breanna Reece all had two hits apiece for the Titans.
“They executed what we asked them to do,” Peggs said. “This group of girls always seems to rise to the occasion. I’m very proud of them. These seniors have never lost a sectional game.”
