LEWSIVILLE, Ind. – The Tri High baseball team was able to hang on to a Tri-Eastern Conference victory on Friday as the Titans defeated Lincoln 18-14.
The Titans led 8-0 after two innings before the Golden Eagles got back into the contest with six runs in the top of the third. Although Lincoln never lead the Golden Eagles also had an eight-run fifth inning to close the gap to 17-14.
Dillon Steven led the Titans with three hits.
Jimmy Jeffries, Josiah Jackson and Mason Rottinghaus had two hits each.
Drew Mondrush, who earned the victory on the mound, had a homer and drove in three runs as he scored five times.
Masen Phelps also had a hit with three runs knocked in.
For Lincoln, Cameron Gwin went 4-for-5 with four RBI as he raised batting average to .615.
Cameron Gumm had three hits and knocked in three runs.
Nolan Miller had two hits, while Coy Smith and Bryce Pennington both had bunt singles.
The Titans (3-2, 2-1) visit Eastern Hancock on Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles (0-5, 0-2) return to action Wednesday night with a doubleheader against Seton at McBride Stadium.
