Tri Falls at Seton

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Tri boys basketball team fell 62-59 on Tuesday at Seton.

The Cardinals led 34-27 at halftime, but really gained control starting in the third period.

“The second half was great,” Seton Head Coach Josh Jurgens said. “I thought we really turned up the intensity.”

For Titans coach Cary Ellis there were two factors.

“We didn’t shot the ball very well down low,” Ellis said. “We had plenty of open looks the whole ball game. We just didn’t hit shots.”

“We’ve got to play better defense too,” Ellis continued. “We let (Zach) Rogers down the middle.”

Rogers and Billie Webster III led the Cardinals with 20 points each.

Masen Phelps led the Titans with 12 points. David O’Neill added 10 points and Alex Melton had eight. Carson Cox grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Titans (6-13) entertain Tri-Eastern Conference foe Centerville on Friday.
