LEWISVILLE, Ind. – Picking up its offensive attack, the Tri girls basketball team defeated Centerville 46-38 in a Tri-Eastern Conference contest on Thursday night.
“It was a slow start for both teams,” Tri Head Coach Jeff Miller said. “We made some adjustments in the second half and started going to the basket more.”
The Titans led 8-5 at the end of the opening period and then 17-12 at the intermission.
In the third quarter, Tri outscored the Bulldogs 16-12 as the Titans added to their advantage to finish the frame on top 33-24.
For the Titans, Payton Moore led the way with 12 points and six rebounds. Kensington Appleby and Addy Edwards each pulled down four rebounds.
Kaylin Smith hit four 3-pointers as she finish with a game-high 14 points. Savanna Kates led Centerville with six rebounds and a pair of steals. Lauren Honkomp added five assists.
Both teams are back on the court on Tuesday. Tri (14-6, 4-3) entertains Wes-Del, while Centerville (4-13, 1-5) gets a visit from Union.
