LEWISVILLE, Ind. – Matt Lacy is set to begin his first year as Tri High’s boys basketball coach as the Titans open the season at Knightstown on Wednesday in a Tri-Eastern Conference contest.
“So far it feels like the guys are buying in,” Lacy said. “There’s been steady progress every single day.”
“I’m kind of focused on the guys competing and who is picking up things,” Lacy continued. “I’ve been really pleased with that. I want to put a product that people will be happy with and proud of.”
Senior Masen Phelps is the top returning scorer from last year’s 7-16 squad at 8.1 PPG. Nick Wilson was next at 7.4 PPG.
Lacy is working on building a positive attitude within the program.
“Getting them confident and believing in themselves,” he said of his goals.
“You can have confidence because of how hard you work,” Lacy continued. “Another big aspect is trying to bring them together as a team to where they support each other.”
The other seniors are Seth Butler, Drew Mondrush and Alex Melton.
Kyler Burchett, Gage Rowe, Zach Smith, Logan Stephens, Cedderek Riggs and Elijah Davis are juniors on the roster, while Kyle Falck and Dillon Stevens are sophomores.
