CHALMERS, Ind. – Tri’s most successful tournament run in softball ended on Monday as the Titans fell 11-8 to the host school in the Frontier Class 1A Semi-State just one win away from the state title affair.
Frontier (22-8) scored eight times in the second inning to take control of the contest with the Titans (17-6).
Kirsten Falck led the Titans with three hits and three RBI.
Destiny Taylor, Kierstyn Conyers, Jesse Spong and Mackenzie Peggs added two hits apiece.
Earlier in the day, Tri won 14-4 in six innings over South Central (21-6) in the conclusion over Saturday’s postponed game.
The Titans exploded for nine runs in the third inning to erase a two-run deficit on their way to the win.
Conyers, Kaley Harrison, Lauren Bouslog, and Payton Moore led the Titans with two hits each.
Moore and Peggs both knocked in three runs.
Abbi Coffman went three innings to earn the victory.
