UNION CITY, Ind. – On to the finals.
The Union City girls basketball team advanced to Wednesday night’s championship game with a 47-44 win over Hauser in the morning opener of the Union City Invitational.
Monroe Central beat Liberty Christian 31-27 to move on the title contest against the Indians that is scheduled for 8 p.m.
The Indians trailed 14-12 after one period and then 24-21 at the intermission.
In the third quarter, Union City out scored Hauser 18-9 as the Indians built a 39-33 advantage, which they held to post the victory.
Courtney Wise led Union City with 12 points and nine rebounds. Baylee Hartman added 11 points, eight rebounds and a team-high four blocks.
Justiss Cantu finished with nine points, three assists and five steals. Madeline Adams tossed in seven points.
