PARKER CITY, Ind. – The Union City girls basketball team had its 11-game winning streak snapped on Friday night as the Indians fell 59-52 to host Monroe Central in the semifinals of the Randolph County Tournament.
Baylee Hartman led the Class 1A No. 10 Indians with 16 points, 14 rebounds, five steals and three blocks against the Golden Bears (12-4), who avenged last week’s 34-32 road loss to Union City.
Courtney Wise added a dozen points for Union City. Kora Kerns tossed in nine points to go with four assists and four steals. Justiss Cantu finished with eight points.
The Golden Bears held a 15-10 advantage after the first quarter and they were able to maintain their edge the rest of the way.
Union City (14-3) returns home to face Monroe Central (12-4) for a third straight time on Friday, Jan. 15.
