MUNCIE, Ind. – The Union City girls cross country team finished third on Saturday at the Delta Sectional.
With their finish, the Indians advance to next Saturday’s regional, which is also at Delta.
Emma Baron topped Union City with a 21:50 to finish in ninth.
The other competitors for the Indians were Sophia Spence (10th), Kora Kerns (15th), Reagan Hoggatt (33rd), Kahlee Dowler (42nd) and Elizabeth Sowinski (50th).
Brooke Covert of Winchester qualified as an individual with an 18th place finish.
For the boys, Winchester’s Camden Abernathy and Lee Owens moved on as individuals. Abernathey was third with a time of 16:53.8, while Owens was 15th.
Union City’s Max Harris also moved on as he was 30th.
Winchester’s other runners were Trenton Sanders (43rd), Jamesin Parker (51st), Richard Briere (61st), Dawson Ridge (64th) and Connor Buckingham (65th).
The others in the field for the Indians were Maverick Luster (38th), Nick Woodbury (59th), Keaton Collins (70th) and Conner Kerns (73rd).
