UNION CITY, Ind. – Baylee Hartman had a record-setting night on Tuesday as she the Union City girls basketball team defeated crosstown rival Mississinawa Valley 69-37.
Hartman had a triple-double 12 points, 15 rebounds and 11 steals to go with six steals against the Blackhawks (3-13).
The junior has 250 rebounds this season for an average of 13.2 per contest. Her current total surpassed the single-season mark of 247 set by Raelynn Mills in 2014-15.
The 11 steals also established a single-game standard for Union City as she passed Reagan Bradbury and Kora Kerns. Bradbury had 10 against Winchester in 2013-14, while Kerns matched that effort last season against Daleville.
Courtney Wise led the Indians with 21 points. Zimmers added 15 and Adams had 12.
The Blackhawks led 14-13 after one period, but the Indians soon took over as they built a 33-23 advantage by halftime.
In the second half, Union City increased its margin by outscoring the Blackhawks 36-14 over the last two quarters.
Union City won the JV game 48-27 as Kahlee Dowler hit seven 3-pointers to score 26 points. Reagan Hoggatt led a dozen rebounds for the Indians, who are 10-5.
The Indians (16-3) travels to Wapahani on Saturday.
