CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. – Class 1A No. 8 Union City defeated Lincoln 44-39 in a Tri-Eastern Conference girls basketball contest on Friday night.
The Golden Eagles led after one period 7-5 before Indians took over with a 15-14 halftime advantage. Lincoln was able to bounce back to lead 25-24 at the end of three. The Indians put together a 20-point final quarter to stay unbeaten in the conference.
Justiss Cantu led the Indians with 14 points. Courtney Wise finished with 11 and Baylee Hartman tossed in eight.
Lincoln had three players in double digits with Kerrigan Neff topping the Golden Eagles with 15 points. Allie Owens had 11 and Kylei Klein had 10.
Union City won the JV game 31-21. Mackenzie Green and Mya Carpenter led the way for the Indians with eight points each.
The Indians (10-1, 5-0) travel to the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown on Saturday to face Campbell County of Tennessee.
The Golden Eagles (8-3, 2-2) entertain Eastern Hancock on Tuesday.
