WINCHESTER, Ind. – The Union City wrestling team had five champions in the Randolph County Meet on Saturday at the Winchester Fieldhouse.
Union City, Winchester and Monroe Central finished in a tie for the team crown, but the Golden Bears earned the title on a tiebreaker based on number of matches won.
“This was a great day of wrestling for our county,” Union City Head Coach Keith Maloy said. “The competitive balance is good for wrestling as a whole. Our kids wrestled hard and battled all day. We came up just short versus Winchester, but bounced back to defeat Monroe Central.”
The individual champs for the Indians were Collin Perry (113), Max Harris (120), Nick Wells (138), Josh Crawford (145) and Braxton Wright (182).
