UNION CITY, Ind. – Union City’s baseball team won its fifth straight game on Monday as the Indians defeated Class 1A seventh-ranked Wes-Del 19-9 in six innings.
The Indians have outscored their opponents 78-25 during their winning streak.
Zach Bradbury and Cam Luster led the Indians with three hits, while Trevor Spence blasted a grand slam in the second inning as Union City scored seven times.
Kyler Purdin and Nic Wells both had two hits. Jacob Fulk also had a hit.
Bradbury, Luster and Wells all swiped two bases.
Spence pitched four innings with five strikeouts to get the win. Luster tossed innings as he fanned four.
Union City (7-2-1) is at Randolph Southern on Wednesday.
