LIBERTY, Ind. – A six-run sixth inning by the Union County baseball team ended the night for Connersville on Monday as the Patriots beat the Spartans 10-0.
Mason Miller, Nate Webb and Caleb Greene each had two hits and knocked in a pair of runs as the Patriots won their season opener.
Scott Mosley (1-0) pitched five innings as he held the Spartans (0-1) scoreless on three hits with five strikeouts. Miller worked the sixth and fanned two.
Union County (1-0) visits Rushville on Thursday.
