LIBERTY, Ind. – One inning made the difference for the Union County softball squad on Tuesday as the Patriots fell 13-8 at home to New Castle.
Union County was on top 5-0 when New Castle scored 11 times in the fourth frame to take the lead for good.
Emma Adams and Kristin Klein led the Patriots with three hits each against the Trojans (3-0).
Adams hit a homer, while Kelin had a pair of doubles.
Tara Williams added two hits including a double as she knocked in three runs.
The Patriots (0-1) are back in action at home on Wednesday against Ross.
